Engaged by the trust to help extend their EPR product (PPM+) a single page web application written with Marionette.js and Backbone.js supported with a suite of C# Web.API endpoints using EntityFramework and Dapper for database access.
I am assisting the trust rearchitect PPM+ to meet scalability and performance targets. Moving from a large and unwieldy relational database to adopting a CQRS based approach with event sourcing (NEventStore) and read models (Elasticsearch).
Continuous integration and deployment via Atlassian Bitbucket, Bamboo and Octopus Deploy.
NHS digital
Worked together with the HSCIC to develop a number of applications and systems to collect, analyse and present national health and social care data.
I led the development on a successful data visualization project for adult social care, undertaken using ASP.NET MVC5, Bootstrap, Entity Framework 6 and a number of JavaScript presentation frameworks, including leaflet.js for mapping and Highcharts for charting.
I was also pivotal in driving their adoption of continuous integration and deployment practices utilising TeamCity 8 and Octopus Deploy 2.
KIT digital
Assisted KIT digital (NASDAQ: KITD), a premium provider of end-to-end video management software and related services, with a Video on Demand (VOD) solution for their middle east client, OSN.
The project was to deliver a web based VOD site based on Silverlight 4 and content managed with EPiServer backed with a set of WCF RESTful services.

Engaged by Edexcel, a Pearson company, who are the UK's largest awarding body offering academic and vocational qualifications and testing to schools, colleges, employers and other places of learning in the UK and internationally.
The project was an upgrade to the ePEN Scoring System, which comprised a suite of ‘two tier’ .Net 1.1 applications, to a service orientated architecture based on MVC3, WCF, Entity Framework 4.1, SQL Server 2008 and Oracle.

Jet2.com is a large scale online flight retailer.
We were contracted to assist with the reservations section of the Jet2 website. The main deliverable for the project was a mobile optimised version for iOS and Android devices. This was implemented to take advantage of HTML5 support in the browsers on those devices alongside jQuery Data Templating. All communication with the services layer was handled using Ajax calls to an ASP.Net C# HttpHandler with JSON payloads.

Brewin Dolphin
GAS were brought in to aid Brewin Dolphin migrate their existing online execution only stock trading website, StockTrade, to a new architecture.
That architecture was based on a front end ASP.Net MVC 2 website, with jQuery, communicating with the business logic via a set of WCF services using domain objects. These objects were persisted to the various data repositories of SQL Server 2005, ProQuote and Brewin’s bespoke Fiscal applications. Development was undertaken in C# with Visual Studio 2008 targeting .Net 3.5. We used an IoC approach across layers of the architecture, injecting dependencies via Microsoft’s Unity framework. The project was a World Cup microsite for Microsoft’s MSN portal and the development work consisted of creating HTML templates conforming to the designers Photoshop mock-ups. Engaged by CSE-Servelec to aid with their .NET development work to create a Results Reporting system.
This was part of their RiO product, for NHS trusts in London. It was an ASP.Net web based application that included components which received results of clinical tests, through the national BT spine conforming to HL7 schema format, and routing these to the relevant Health Care Professionals.
Rococo Design & Marketing
Provided and maintains a web based solution to manage Rococo’s jobs processing.
The application is used to capture the details about Rococo’s ongoing jobs. It allows the creation of invoices and purchase orders against these to provide quick financial overviews to see at a glance the state of individual jobs or groups of jobs.
Utilising the very latest technologies from SQL Server 2005, Visual Studio 2008, .NET framework 3.5 and Windows Server 2003 the solution was delivered on time and to budget. See more ...
